Lite.im makes it available to send and receive Litecoin (LTC) via Telegram and text messages

Litecoin (LTC), famous peer-to-peer cryptocurrency now can be sent and received via text messages. On August the 9th, the creator of Litecoin, Charlie Lee tweeted that now Litecoin (LTC) transactions are available via Telegram.

This new feature of Lite.im was designed by non-profit blockchain startup Zulu  Republic based in Zug, Switzerland. Zulu Republic company motivated by the idea that decentralized collaboration is the human protocol of the future.

The startups intends apart from the Telegram, “the most secure messenger in the world”, to deploy it to SMS messaging. The company claims that only 33% of the 64% of the global population that owns a mobile phone, have a smartphone with internet connection.

The company announs about Lite.im:

“Lite.im brings Litecoin services to anyone with even the most basic mobile phone, regardless of whether or not they have access to the internet. With a simple Telegram or SMS message, lite.im users will be able to interact with the Litecoin blockchain, sending and receiving funds from anywhere in the world where a cellular signal can be found.”

Introducing Litecoin in SMS and Telegram system it will be available for users to check their Litecoin balance in just a few seconds. Besides, users will know address of incoming transactions and will be able to send cryptocurrencies to anyone with a phone number, Telegram account or Litecoin Address.

One of the main purposes of this feature is making easy for users  without Litecoin wallet to receive Litecoin. Besides, it gives chance to send Litecoin to users whose LTC wallet you do not know.
